Eat@Brown: An app for dining hall menus

Spring 2016 — iOS app

Screenshots from the app.

I co-developed this app with a team at Brown’s annual hackathon in 2016. After our first semester at Brown, we wanted to revamp Brown’s dining hall menu experience on mobile, which was quite inconvenient at the time. This app queried a backend that contained the menu data, and provided a clean UI for browsing the menu.

Throughout the semester we reached a total of around 300 downloads and 80 daily active users.

If we had more time that semester, we would have implemented “favorites”, where users could select which foods they liked and they would be notified when the food appeared on the menu. This would have a positive effect on Brown’s dining halls — Brown would have explicit feedback on their menu, which they could use to select food for future meals.

Below are some screenshots from the app.
